About

Travel Points 101 is a blog dedicated to showing people how to use miles, points, and other budget tools to travel as close to free as possible.

Most people believe travel has to be expensive.

It does not have to be.

With money out of the equation, the world is truly your oyster.

If you are not spending money on travel, you can put it towards other things like kid’s college, retirement, etc.

You could also take more vacations – if that is what you want.

With credit card companies and airlines giving away thousands of miles and points; it is easier than ever to travel for pennies.

It will require that you spend time learning new concepts though.

It will also require that you be responsible with credit cards.

Credit card rewards depend on not paying interest. If you pay interest, you will negate any rewards.

Therefore, you must pay your balance in full each month.

No worries.

We will show you tricks to stay within your budget and not spend even an extra dime.

My name is Tracy Nicole.

I am the founder of the blog.

I discovered the world of points and miles in 2015 – and very slowly.

At the time, I had never been to Chicago or the state of California.

I stumbled into credit cards points and miles.

Not only did I get to Chicago and California, I went from someone who only traveled a couple times a year to a frequent traveler who is used to staying at over 50 + hotels a year (sometimes flying in business class).

I have gotten to stay at hotels like the Intercontinental Toronto, Ritz-Carlton Philadelphia, and Waldorf Astoria Chicago (over $500+ value) for either free or very close it.

That is just to name a few.

I originally did this all on a budget just a little bit more than the average person’s monthly dining out spending.

In the present, I plan to do this completely free.

I want to show you how to do the same for pennies or even free again.

Whether you want to be a frequent traveler or just take more family vacations, I know with these tactics you can probably do it.

More travel requires more time (at least if you want to do it for pennies).

I will introduce techniques of manufactured spending like reselling to travel in case this interests you.

I will be reselling for the first time for myself, so you can learn with me.

If you just want your annual vacation or two like the average person, you can do that for free or very close to it with no manufactured spending.

Again, you could also add another vacation with no extra cost.

Whatever your goals, you can accomplish them.

That is what I want to show you on the blog.

Look forward to the journey with you.
